Last October, Kia released three new models in the EV/PHEV market: EV5, Kia Concept EV3, and EV9. According to the company’s CEO, Sung Suong, “the acceleration towards electrification begins now.” He really means it: Kia has established an ambitious sales target for the segment: 1.6 million vehicles yearly by 2030.
However, those aren’t the only electric and hybrid vehicles developed by this carmaker. Here’s what you need to know about the most innovative Kia hybrid EV releases.
Kia’s EV and PHEV vehicles are all about sustainability and hi-tech features surrounding you with safety and comfort while providing outstanding driveability. The company announced that new functions, such as in-vehicle AI features, will be added to its smartphone application.
According to Kia’s plans, EV and PHEV vehicles will be released this year with price tags ranging between USD 30,000 and USD 80,000 for the US market. However, there aren’t price estimates for the Canadian market so far. Learn more about the efficiency and innovative technologies in the company’s latest releases.
Here’s an all-electric SUV designed to entice millennial buyers. Its 64 kWh battery pack delivers a driving range of up to 530 km when fully charged. This lineup also brings an even more powerful battery pack. The 88 kWh battery has an outstanding driving range of 720 km. In contrast, AWD models have 650 km of maximum range. Additionally, this lineup boasts a fast-charging system, charging from 30% to 80% in under half an hour.
The EV5 provides excellent comfort for drivers, too. The i-Pedal system allows you to use the same pedal for acceleration and braking. This feature is convenient for long journeys since it reduces driver fatigue. Three displays are aligned on the front panel: a 12.3-inch infotainment system, a 12.3-inch cluster, and a 5-inch climate control display.
The Kia Concept EV3 is a top-notch compact SUV with even more impressive features than the EV5. The interior design is both mesmerizing and highly functional. All seats have an advanced ergonomic design and are made from sustainable materials. Additionally, ambient mood lighting adds even more comfort to its already luxurious cabin.
This bold-looking sedan applies clever design and technologies to promote drivers' and passengers’ well-being. It premieres the Mind Modes feature, with different adjustments for animated ventilation patterns and interior lighting. Two digital screens are placed on a slimmed-down panel, specifically crafted to improve drivers’ orientation, preventing distractions and efficiently preparing them for the next task.
