Kia is gearing up towards zero-emission, all-electric vehicles. The company’s plans for electrification were announced last October, including a yearly sales target of 1.6 million EV vehicles by 2030. Here’s what Kia’s 2024 electric vehicles look like.
All models have the same powertrain: a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor with a 77.4 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery. This setup is capable of 320 horsepower and 446 lb-ft of torque, with fuel efficiency of 1.8 Le/100km in the city and 2.3 Le/100km on highways.
However, estimates are slightly higher for the flagship model: 2.2 Le/100km and 2.5 Le/100km, respectively. It’s also a more robust model with 576 horsepower and 545 lb-ft of torque capacity.
Three charging levels are available, including a fast charging option that can take your battery from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes. Ranges may vary according to the model. The Wind RWD goes up to 499km, while the mid-tier Land AWD has a range of 454km. The flagship model has the shortest range: 332km.
Standard features include a dual-zone automatic climate control system, a 12.3-inch multimedia interface with integrated navigation, and a 12.3-inch Supervision LCD/TFT instrument cluster. Additionally, all models have Kia Connect, mobile compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and SiriusXM satellite radio.
All models have a 99.8kWh lithium-ion battery. RWD models deliver 258 lb-ft of torque capacity and 201 horsepower. In contrast, the flagship model has a torque capacity of 516 lb-ft plus 379 horsepower. Like the EV6, this lineup runs on a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. The entry-level model has a range of 370 km, while the Wind RWD has 489km. In contrast, the flagship model has 435 km of range.
You’ll find a pretty similar level of technology features across the lineup. Standard features include a 12.3-inch multimedia interface with navigation, a 12.3-inch TFT Supervision cluster, and a 5-inch designated HVAC display.
Comfort technologies like a tri-zone automatic climate control system, wireless phone charger, and Digital Key 2.0 are also standard for all models. Luxury features reserved for the flagship model include a 14-speaker Meridian Premium Audio, ambient mood lighting, a surround-view monitor, and a blind view monitor.
